Wonder Garden is a teacher-led instructional program designed to support children’s thinking, curiosity, and social-emotional development as they prepare for kindergarten and school.
Through STEAM and inquiry-based learning experiences, children develop essential social-emotional skills including character strengths, resilience and a growth mindset. These learning experiences are intentionally designed so that children practice and strengthen skills such as cooperation, communication, independence and positive participation in group learning while engaging in hands-on exploration, problem-solving and collaborative inquiry.
Each session is carefully designed with clear learning intentions, using structured inquiry, STEAM exploration and social-emotional learning as the foundation for developing cognitive, emotional and relational skills.
Wonder Garden supports children to build the foundational capabilities needed for successful participation in kindergarten and school, including curiosity, focus, persistence, resilience and the ability to learn and work alongside others.

Parent attendance is flexible. Some children are ready to independently join the program from the start of the session, while others may benefit from a parent or carer remaining briefly to support their transition into the learning environment.
We aim to ensure each child is comfortable and parents are welcome to stay for a short period if needed to help their child settle into the session, before transitioning out once their child is engaged in our learning experiences.
Each Wonder Garden group is limited to a maximum of 12 children to maintain a focused and engaging learning environment. This group size enables the educator to deliver clear instruction, support engagement in planned activities and ensure children can meaningfully participate in the program’s learning experiences.
Our School Readiness program is designed and facilitated by Emma, a Bachelor qualified and fully registered teacher who has spent over 10 years teaching Prep and Grade 1.
Emma is a fully registered teacher and holds a Blue Card and First Aid qualifications specifically for working with children including CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma training.
All bookings are non-refundable. Unfortunately we can not offer refunds or credits for individual weeks missed in the term. However, we do offer make-up sessions on other Wonder Garden days within the term (depending on group numbers & availability).
Sessions cancelled by us due to unsafe weather conditions or teacher illness will be rescheduled or credited to your account. You will be notified of any cancellations by 8am on the day.
Wonder Garden sessions continue in light rain. On these days, children are encouraged to wear appropriate wet-weather clothing such as gumboots, raincoats, or waterproof overalls. Depending on conditions, learning activities may take place outdoors or be adapted for an indoor learning environment.
In the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or unsafe weather conditions, the session will not proceed. Families will be notified by 8:00am if a session needs to be cancelled. Where this occurs, the session will be rescheduled or credited to your account.
